Is typhoid worse than usual in Kech?

Dooram can't tell yet. Too few of Kech's clinics reported in the same weeks of the last two years.

4.0 cases reported in week 39, when 60% of its clinics sent a report.

"Usual" is the same four weeks of the two years before. In 4 of those 8 weeks, fewer than half of Kech's clinics sent a report, so the cases they show are not Kech's usual, only how little was reported. Dooram leaves out any week when fewer than half the clinics reported, and here too few weeks are left to compare.

How does Kech compare with the rest of Pakistan?

Not compared. Each district is compared with its own usual, and Kech cannot be this time.

What is typhoid?

A serious infection caused by Salmonella Typhi bacteria. It gets into the blood and can be life-threatening.

Signs
A high fever that lasts a long time, tiredness, headache, feeling sick, belly pain, and constipation or diarrhoea. Some people get a rash.
How it spreads
Through food or water dirtied by an infected person's faeces. People can still pass it on after they feel better.
How to protect yourself
A typhoid vaccine can be given from 6 months of age. Drink safe water, eat food cooked well and served hot, and wash hands with soap.
Get medical help
See a health worker for a high fever that lasts several days; a blood test can confirm typhoid. Finish all the antibiotics given.

A reported case means someone reached a clinic and a form was filed, so these count reports, not everyone who was ill.
