Is flu-like illness worse than usual in Quetta?

Dooram can't tell yet. Too few of Quetta's clinics reported in the last four weeks.

820 cases reported in week 39, when 48% of its clinics sent a report.

In 3 of the last four weeks, fewer than half of its clinics sent a report, so a low count may only mean few reports. Dooram leaves out any week when fewer than half the clinics reported, and here too few weeks are left to compare.

What is flu-like illness?

Illness with fever and cough, most often caused by influenza (flu) viruses. In cooler countries flu comes mostly in winter; in tropical places it can strike all year.

Signs
Sudden fever, dry cough, headache, aching muscles and joints, feeling very tired, sore throat and runny nose. Most people feel better in about a week.
How it spreads
Through coughs and sneezes, and hands that carry the virus. It spreads fast in crowded places like schools and care homes.
How to protect yourself
A flu vaccine every year is the best protection. Wash hands, cover coughs and sneezes, stay home when ill, and keep away from sick people.
Get medical help
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe or getting worse, or if you are pregnant, under 5, over 65, or have a long-term illness. Flu can lead to pneumonia.
