Is non-cholera diarrhoea worse than usual in Ziarat?

Dooram can't tell yet. Too few of Ziarat's clinics reported in the last four weeks and in the same weeks of the last two years.

266 cases reported in week 39, when 93% of its clinics sent a report.

"Usual" is the same four weeks of the two years before. In 6 of those 8 weeks, fewer than half of Ziarat's clinics sent a report, so the cases they show are not Ziarat's usual, only how little was reported. In 1 of the last four weeks, fewer than half of its clinics sent a report, so a low count may only mean few reports. Dooram leaves out any week when fewer than half the clinics reported, and here too few weeks are left to compare.

Not compared. Each district is compared with its own usual, and Ziarat cannot be this time.

What is non-cholera diarrhoea?

Diarrhoea means passing loose or watery poo three or more times a day. It is usually caused by germs in the gut, such as viruses, bacteria or parasites.

Signs
Frequent loose, watery poo. The main danger is losing too much water (dehydration): sunken eyes, strong thirst, restlessness, or being very sleepy.
How it spreads
Through food or water that has poo in it, or from person to person when hands are not washed.
How to protect yourself
Drink safe water, use clean toilets, wash hands with soap, and keep food clean. Breastfeed babies only for 6 months. The rotavirus vaccine protects children.
Get medical help
Give oral rehydration salts (ORS) and zinc and keep feeding. Get help fast for blood in poo, diarrhoea lasting two weeks, or a child who is very sleepy or cannot drink.
